Shady Patch

The fashion sphere is obsessed with sunglasses. They're sometimes the last accessory added to an outfit, but sunglasses leave a lasting impact. Gone are the days of faux Ray-Bans roaming the street on every second citizen, designers are now embracing the coveted shades and transforming then into never before worn styles.

As art merges with fashion, more than ever before, designers are employing the elements and principles of design to create groovy glasses that explore colour and shape. Each era has introduced different trends in sunglasses, with the 60's embracing big bold sunnies & the 70's introducing colourful plastic frames. But as we draw closer to 2020, it appears that our current contribution to the development of sunglasses has been the exploration of shape and the heavy influence from post-modern art.

Morning Routine

The sun peeks in, breaking the solidarity of the quiet darkness.
Hazy eyes crack open, slithers of green and blue catch each-other.
An extended stretch complicated by entwined limbs,
Chests meet in a warm embrace.

Standing side by side in the morning mirror,
Morning breath, morning yawn.
Watching white water drip down the drain,
The air catches the fresh scent.

From burnt oats to burnt tongues,
Grumbling stomachs soon become our satisfied friends.
The drone of yawning commuters fills the room,
as the morning breaks for another day.

35mm Pt.1

Progressive shots of Splendour 2017 from day one to day three. From when I remembered to take a photo.

Seeing Jack River, Milky Chance, The Jungle Giants & The Wombats live at Riverstage. I had entirely to much to drink, but it was worth it.

Camping in the freezing cold at Girraween. We forgot a light so we had to eat dinner in the darkness.

Housemate day-trip to the Gold Coast. One of the first and only day-trips we have gone on all together.

Hiking in the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands. I got blisters on both my feet on day one and I had to walk 45 more kilometers with them.

Waterfall in Byron Bay. The only two people in the water where European men wearing budgie smugglers.

This photo was a mistake, but I love it.

Flame

The sticky sweet surrender burned the back of my throat
A sudden warm embrace filled my chest
It took hold
Latched on
It was in control now.

One small sip, one moment of weakness was all it took
For a fire to burn in my belly that would never be put out.
For when shallow words and empty kisses weren’t enough
The fire ached for more.

With dizzy stares and glowing eyes
Fire met with fire.
His warm embrace was forbidden
Cursed by the stars.

But the hunger wasn’t satisfied.
For with him, the fire dulled
It wasn’t in control anymore, he was.
Two flames can’t dance together without one overwhelming the other.
